Film Pre-selection Committee

The 2024 edition of the Lagos Fringe marks the commencement of the preselection committee program set to train filmmakers in the art of evaluating films based on film tone and form following the festival’s theme and purpose.

The preselection committee will be composed of committed individuals with a proven interest in fiction and non-fiction cinema like writers, producers, directors, production designers, etc. This opportunity is suitable for those with some experience in film programming and curation, filmmakers interested in improving their filmmaking skills, film enthusiasts, film critics, and film reviewers.

Pre-selectors will be expected to watch hours of motion picture short films (across animation, live action, and documentary,) for a few weeks, they will also be required to join virtual meetings where they will receive mentorship from industry professionals. Candidates can be based anywhere but should be fluent in English (written and verbal).

During the virtual mentorship session, the committee members will be educated on the selection criteria employed by the Lagos Fringe programming for the submitted films.
